LC-Tec and KipperTie Unveil New Accessory Range Featuring LC-Tec Filters at IBC 2025 (12th-15th of September)
Amsterdam — LC-Tec and KipperTie present a new range of accessories at IBC 2025, all incorporating LC-Tec’s advanced liquid-crystal filter technology. The products feature electronic neutral density (eND) and electronic variable diffusion (eVD), demonstrating practical applications of LC-Tec’s optical innovation for professional imaging workflows. In addition, LC-Tec will present an early-stage prototype of an electronically controlled variable star filter aimed at broadcast applications, shown as a technology preview.
Highlights from KipperTie include a series of PL lens-adapters enabling the use of cinema lenses on conventional camera bodies. These adapters integrate LC-Tec electronic variable ND (eND) and electronic variable diffusion (eVD) filters via the already shipping KipperTie LCminiND unit. The LCminiND provides infinitely variable neutral density from approximately 2 to 7 stops, minimal color shift, robust mechanical construction, and app-based control.
In addition to the newly released adapters, the LCminiND fits popular drop-in filter mounts, including Canon RF-to-EF and compatible adapters. The electronic diffusion (eVD) version of the drop-in adapter remains in prototype form and will ship once development is complete.
At the top of the range, 4×5.65-inch flagship electronic filters for matte boxes will be showcased. Offered in both electronic variable ND (eND) and electronic variable diffusion (eVD) versions, these filters are designed for the most demanding high-end cinema productions. Targeted at large-scale feature films, premium drama, and top-tier commercial work, they deliver precise, electronically controlled exposure or diffusion at full matte-box scale, with uncompromising optical performance, consistency, and repeatability.
